October 2004: Carly-Jay Metcalfe is a twenty-seven year
old research Masters student in Creative Writing at the
Queensland University of Technology, for which she is
writing a novel and thesis. Last year, she completed her
Bachelor of Creative Industries in creative writing at QUT,
and next year plans to begin her PhD. In August 1998,
Carly-Jay was lucky enough to receive a double lung
transplant, due to her condition of Cystic Fibrosis.
Carly-Jay and her partner Luke are travelling to Chicago
and New York this September, so Carly-Jay is able to
research her novel which is set in 1964 Chicago. Not much
has changed since her first bio here in 1997 -- she still loves reading,
coffee, jazz and poetry.
