December 1997: Douglas has been writing fiction in his spare time since he was sixteen.
"I got really serious about it in college when I took a couple of
creative writing classes," he says, and adds, "After an extended
layoff I am now getting back into fiction." Douglas also says that his
"real" job is as a security officer for a major grocery chain
in Columbus, Ohio, which gives some opportunity to write at work.
