Naomi says that she is a fairly typical forty-something woman. She grew up with parents who had high expectations for her. Her father was a Free Will Baptist preacher, and her mother worked thirty-two years at the same job, farmed, sewed all the family's clothes. She tucked the children in at night under hand-made quilts. It gave Naomi a lot to live up to. "I think I have turned out pretty well. I like my life. I have three children, and I am married to a big, burly guy who inspires me. Like everyone else, I have my ups and downs, but I keep on going, trying to walk through this world full of weird, wacky people." Naomi lives in Northern California. She also has four grandchildren.
