August 1997: Nicola Clark (Nicky), is eighteen and lives in Banstead, in the
United Kingdom. She has been writing and reading poetry much
of her life. Sylvia Plath is her greatest poetic influence.
Yet, though Nicky admires Plath greatly, she sees her own
poetic style as very different from Plath's. Scholastically,
Ms. Clark just finished her A levels in Theatre Studies,
Ancient History, History and English Literature. "I couldn't
stand English at school," Nicky admits, "and have done very
little, if any work on my poetry." She believes her style
is messy and patchy and, thus has extended an invitation for
"any comments or advice." We extend the opportunity to all
visitors.
