When first appearing at the WriteGallery(SM),
(early 1999), Stefanie was an eighteen-year-old senior in high school
who was "deep in [her] universe of thought and the written word." Stefanie had
stopped writing for a long spell. "Death's Unclosed Gate" was one of her first submissions
in a quite a while and her first fiction submission, ever. "I usually only submit poetry."
Stefanie said, then, of herself:
"I am desperate to find talent in myself for writing. I want to write so badly and it just
seems to exude from me. I'm eighteen going on thirty-five and I want to share this experience in
thought and discovery with the rest of the world."
Stefanie, is now a college student.
