"African Spirit,"

Paradise

What is this place
With no tears of sadness
Where glory's a reality.
What is this place
Where in my vulnerability
I am fully accepted.

I spin in crazy circles,
Arms spread out wide
And laughing like a child
And I wonder
Why The lines of pain
That creased my face
Have vanished
As though they never were.

I see a thousand million
Perhaps even more,
For there are too many to count
Not a sad face in their midst
The experience is universal.

What is this place
Where bitterness and anger
Felt in a previous time
evaporated into nothing.

In the midst of all
The celebration and dancing
A voice warm and reassuring
whispers in my ear,
"This is paradise!"
