Tick Ad Hoc
Ticktock ye old clock, in lieu of minutes ad hoc,
The aged features chime a moment in time;
Hitch the pane of the old face clock,
Moreover point in time befalls meantime;
At times the old man will tell the o'clock,
And from time to time the old man mistimes;
On several odd days at daytime he bids block,
Triggering disorder to mealtimes, anytime, ad hoc;
Borne giant, rigid, ye old man woodblock,
Moulds the daylight hours with hands to mime;
Nighttimes, noontime, pastime, peacetime mock,
The old man's influence to our passing lifetime;
Hold on to chiming, all climbing your shadow,
Old man with the hands, sallow walls, and window.
