Blue and White Light: a virtual chapbook of poetry by Robbie Cartier Le'Nepveu

Prayer

Taking Token

Dear Lord
This is my prayer to You
Up in heaven

I have not prepared what You asked
And have not set what You tasked
Dear Lord

Years are full with ambiguities
And I don't think I will make it there with You
Up in heaven

Your commandments have been broken
And I have courage to take token
Dear Lord

Forgiveness is my foremost solace
And I pardon you for overlooking earth
Up in heaven

For I am trivial among advocates who are
Vastly dubious, nevertheless, give rise to You
Dear Lord
Up in heaven
