Victim

Victim,
so impersonal a word
implying suffering
now it echoes through our days
Mothers, daughters,
fathers, sons,
aunts, uncles,
grandparents, cousins,
Nieces, nephews,
sisters, brothers,
colleagues, neighbors,
friends, lovers
Perhaps victim
is easier for us to say
