In Lightning
Like a wink
or a momentary
jolt
of knowledge
in my heart
staggered
electric whiteness
forks
a path
to lock with earth
slashing
a deep grey sky-belly
to etch gracefully a warning
that solidifies
my place.
Resonating with strong Buddhist undertones, "In Lightning" is a poem about the transience of life, humanity's ambiguous relationship with nature, and the significance of the moment. |
