Desert Sunrise

The wind whipping in my face as I fly
Over majestic chestnut colored mountains
The beauty cannot be justly described
The rising sun begins to peek over the summit
Colours of orange, red, lilac, and pink
Serve as a backdrop for the ebony mountains ahead
I am soaring over untouched lands
Shrubs greener than the greenest grass
Sand the colours of peach and brown form a strangely graceful mixture I
will continue to soar till the desert turns cold I will fly till the earth is old

This poem was composed on a recent trip to New Mexico by car. I
watched the sunrise in the Arizona desert and I had to capture the beauty.
