A Few Words
Sophie Z. Mosleh

I wanted to leave you a special letter from me
Wanted to say that you taught me how to love
Wanted you to know that you were always there
Wanted you to feel that there would be no one else
But as much as I wanted to believe that you were real
My doubts and suspicions overrode the feelings
I struggled to let loose
And as much as I knew that your love was true, I felt it wasn't
As much as I wanted you there, the sad truth hit me, you weren't
And when my mind pondered on the slightest doubt
that you were illusory, I let go
So take this letter as the last piece of me
For my world has shattered into nothingness
And my life, I took away
Because a love I thought was so real
Ended up being the realm of my pain
My last wish is that you will find happiness
And the serenity to live
The two things I lost with and without you
