Hey Daddy (1959)

Hey daddy, 1959
I'm walking down the street
The sidewalks cracked and torn
The writing there is faded and worn
There's a message there to dad
"Hey dad, we miss you, 1959"
Oh, so sad, so sad, so sad
Jimmy never knew his dad
Kate only has a memory
And mommy isn't talking
Hey daddy, 1959
Further down the street,
There is an old abandoned church
Its condition couldn't be worse
There is a plaque, 1959
Hey daddy, it's 1959
What has become of you?
The message still endures
"Hey daddy, we miss you, 1959"
