[Exquests@aol.com]
It must tickle when
you pluck a plant
and ready it for replanting,
let its roots dangle
in the wind.
And when you plant
the plant back,
tamping it gently into place
it must feel the same
quiet relief that I felt
when my father
stopped tickling me
and I lay on the ground
gently gasping.
