A Vague Trail

The tides of sentiments gush in with an unknown force,
Driving me towards an ambiguous course.
It seems like a vague trail, where I play a stranger,
Commencing the expedition with such an ease
Having no fear no danger.

Anonymous shadows to and fro, conceal the features of the corpse,
Burying my fantasies, with my dreams and hopes.
In early days the ecstasy seems buoyant,
Then like descending sunlight, my heart falls silent.

The twinge of solitude along the path,
Weakens the nerves, and seals it with wrath.
Standing perplexed, with questions in eyes,
The smile on the façade swiftly dies.

Stealing the delight of my aspirations,
I walk through every obstruction.
Looking back to hunt the caring hand,
I realize alone I stand.

Where does a story truly begin? In life there are seldom clear cut beginnings- Those moments when we can, in looking back, say that everything started. Yet, there are moments when fate intersects with our daily lives, setting in motion a sequence of events whose outcome we could never have foreseen.
